‘Otello’ at Opéra National du Capitole

This April 14-26, Michael Fabiano brings his thrilling interpretation of Verdi’s Otello to audiences in Toulouse, returning to Opéra National du Capitole. Otello is a new role for the tenor, who just made his role debut earlier this week in Las Palmas. It’s a welcome addition to Fabiano’s Verdi repertoire, which also includes the title role in Don Carlo, Manrico in Il trovatore, Gustavus III in Un ballo in maschera, the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto, and several others.

Fabiano joins an exceptional cast in Nicolas Joel’s classic 2001 production, under the baton of Carlo Montanaro. Adriana Gonzalez sings Desdemona, with Nikoloz Lagvilava as Iago, Julien Dran as Cassio, Irina Sherazadishvili as Emilia, Andrés Sulbarán as Roderigo, Jean-Fernand Setti as Lodovico, and Zaza Gagua as Montano.
