‘Turandot’ at The Metropolitan Opera

This September and October, Michael Fabiano returns to The Metropolitan Opera, appearing in a signature role: Calaf in Puccini’s beloved Turandot. Fabiano has found enormous success in the role, which he has previously performed at Teatro Real, Wiener Staatsoper, Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Teatro dell’Opera di Roma. His powerful portrayal of the love-struck prince has earned rave reviews, with Operawire remarking, “His pure, natural emission and powerful, potent voice make him ideal for this role.”

Fabiano bows along an all-star cast in Franco Zeffirelli’s lavish production, under the baton of Carlo Rizzi. Sopranos Angela Meade and Rebecca Nash share the title role, with Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha as Líu, Vitalij Kowaljow as Timur, and Thomas Capobianco as the Emperor.

Performances are on September 23, 27, and 30, and October 3, 9, 13, and 18.
