‘Carmen’ at Wiener Staatsoper

This winter, Michael Fabiano is set to grace the stage of the Wiener Staatsoper once again, portraying the character of Don José in Calixto Bieito’s production of Carmen. His previous season saw him join the company as Cavaradossi in Tosca to great success.

The impressive ensemble cast includes Eve-Maud Hubeaux as Carmen, Roberto Tagliavini as Escamillo, Slávka Zámečníková as Micaëla, Ileana Tonca as Frasquita, Alma Neuhaus as Mercédès, Ilja Kazakov as Zuniga, Stefan Astakhov as Moralès, Carlos Osuna as Remendado, and Michael Arivony as Dancaïre. Alexander Soddy conducts.

Performances are scheduled for January 29, February 1, and 3.
