‘Tosca’ at Gran Teatre del Liceu
This January, Michael Fabiano performs the role of Cavaradossi in Tosca at Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu. He has performed the role to great acclaim in leading opera houses including Teatro Real de Madrid and The Metropolitan Opera, of which Operawire wrote:
“Michael Fabiano as Cavaradossi. One word: supernatural. Anyone who’s heard him knows the sheer power of his voice… Fabiano possesses an instrument handed down from the greats. It’s thrilling, it’s brilliant, and he stands among the most esteemed tenors of our time.”
Directed by Rafael R. Villalobos, this is a co-production between Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Teatro de la Maestranza y Salas del Arenal and Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier. Performing alongside Mr. Fabiano in this all-star cast includes Maria Agresta and Emily Magee (Jan. 11) as Floria Tosca, Željko Lučić and George Gagnidze (Jan. 11) as Scarpia, with Henrik Nánási and Giacomo Sagripanti (Jan. 11) leading from the pit.
Mr. Fabiano’s performances will take place on January 4, 7, 11 ,13, 16 and 19.
