Michael Fabiano returns to the Staatsoper Berlin as Don José in ‘Carmen’

Michael Fabiano returns to the Staatsoper Berlin to star as Don José in Bizet’s Carmen, under the baton of the legendary maestro Daniel Barenboim. Martin Kušej’s brilliant production represents a landmark interpretation of a truly timeless opera, starring the renowned mezzo-soprano, Anita Rachvelishvili, in the title role. Performances will take place on March 7, 10, 12, 14, 19, and 21.

Mr. Fabiano will share the stage with a celebrated cast, including Lucio Gallo as Escamillo, Jaka Mihelač as Dancaïro, Ziad Nehme as Remendado, Adam Kutny as Moralès, Christiane Karg as Michaëla, Alyona Abramova as Frasquita, Serena Sáenz as Mercédès, Jan Martiník as Zuniga, and Klaus Christian Schreiber as Lillas Pastia.

The performance of Carmen on March 12 2020 at 7pm will be streamed live on the websites of rbb and Staatsoper Unter den Linden. It will also be sent live on rbbKultur radio and can be seen on rbb television this Saturday at 8:15pm.

*In accord with the decision of the senate administration for culture and Europe, all performances of Staatsoper Unter den Linden from March 11 until and including April 19 2020 have to be cancelled. Tickets that have already been purchased for this period can be exchanged, refunded or you can choose to donate the amount of your purchase to the youth program of Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
