Title role debut in ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’ at Opéra national de Paris
Michael Fabiano begins the new year with his highly anticipated title role debut in Offenbach’s Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Opéra National de Paris. Fabiano stars in Robert Carsen’s production which highlights the melancholy genius of a man marked by life. Carsen plays masterfully with this play within a play, and his spectacular mise en abyme takes us behind the scenes of opera.
Performances will take place on January 21, 25, 28, February 2, 5, 8, 11 & 14 at the Opéra Bastille. Sir Mark Elder conducts the Orchestra and Choir of the Opéra national de Paris. Fabiano shares the stage with a star-studded cast, including Ailyn Pérez as Antonia, Jodie Devos as Olympia, Véronique Gens as Giulietta, Gaëlle Arquez as Nicklausse, and Laurent Naouri as the Four Villains, among others.
