Verdi’s ‘Giovanna d’Arco’ at Teatro Real de Madrid
Closing out the 2018/19 Teatro Real de Madrid season, Michael Fabiano stars as Carlos VII in a concert version of Verdi’s Giovanna d’Arco. Marking the premiere of the opera at the Teatro Real, maestro James Conlon conducts the Intermezzo Choir and Madrid Symphony Orchestra. In July 2016, Fabiano debuted at Teatro Real in Verdi’s I due Foscari. In the 2019/20 season, he returns to Madrid to sing his acclaimed Alfredo in Willy Decker’s production of Verdi’s La Traviata.
Performances of Giovanna d’Arco take place on July 14, 17, & 20. Mr. Fabiano shares the stage with a thrilling roster of artists including Plácido Domingo as Giacomo, Carmen Giannattasio as Giovanna, Moisés Marín as Delil, and Simón Orfila as Taldot.
