New production of ‘Madama Butterfly’ at San Francisco Opera

Michael Fabiano returns to the San Francisco Opera to star as Pinkerton in a new production of Madama Butterfly. Amon Miyamoto’s new staging of Puccini’s heartbreaking drama is told through the eyes of Trouble, the son of Cio-Cio-San and Lt. B.F. Pinkerton, providing a new and unique perspective on an age-old story.

Performance dates include June 3, 6, 9, 18, 21, 24, 27, and July 1. Fabiano will share the stage with a thrilling cast, including Karah Son as the title role, Hyona Kim as Suzuki, Lucas Meachem as Sharpless, Julius Ahn as Goro, Kidon Choi as Prince Yamadori, Jongwan Han as the Bonze, and John Charles Quimpo as Adult Trouble. Eun Sun Kim conducts.
