‘Tosca’ in Vienna
This March, Michael Fabiano is set to perform as Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini’s masterpiece, Tosca, at the esteemed Wiener Staatsoper. The iconic production by Margarethe Wallmann, with scenic and costume designs by Nicola Benois, has stood the test of time, having premiered in Vienna in 1958. Leading the Wiener Staatsoper orchestra is the famed conductor Marco Armiliato, who is known for his skillful and nuanced interpretation of operatic works.
Mr. Fabiano will be joined on stage by a stellar cast, including Krassimira Stoyanova in the role of Floria Tosca, Luca Salsi as Baron Scarpia, Clemens Unterreiner as Cesare Angelotti, Wolfgang Bankl as Sacristan, Andrea Giovannini as Spoletta, Hans Peter Kammerer as Sciarrone, and Marcus Pelz as Jailer.
These performances are scheduled to take place on March 25, 28, and 31.
