‘Eugene Onegin’ at Teatro di San Carlo
On June 15, 18, 21, 24 and 26, Michael Fabiano will reprise the role of Lensky in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin at the prestigious Teatro di San Carlo. Of his role debut at the Royal Opera House in 2015, The Sunday Times remarked “I can’t think of a Lensky at Covent Garden who has held the audience so spellbound in 40 years of Onegin-going… a glorious debut.”
This sumptuous production by Barrie Kosky, first seen at Komische Oper Berlin, has been described as showing off “the best of the director” (Bachtrack) due to its attention to detail and musical sensitivity. The thrilling cast will also feature Artur Ruciński as Eugene Onegin, Elena Stikhina as Tatyana, Monica Bacelli as Larina, Nino Surguladze as Olga, Larissa Diadkova as Filippyevna, Alexander Tsymbalyuk as Prince Gremin, Rosario Natale as Zaretsky, Roberto Covatta as Triquet, Antonio De Lisio as Company Commander and Mario Thomas as Peasant. Fabio Luisi conducts.
