Verdi’s ‘La Traviata’ at Teatro Real de Madrid

Michael Fabiano returns to Teatro Real de Madrid as Alfredo in a special semi-staged concert version of Verdi’s La Traviata, with limited capacity and meticulous protocol of health security due to COVID-19. Fabiano will share the stage with a starry cast, including Marina Rebeka as Violetta, Artur Rucinski as Germont, Sandra Ferrandez as Flora Bervoix, and Marifé Nogales as Annina, among others. Performances will take place on July 1, 4, 9, 15, 21, 24, & 27. Maestro Nicola Luisotti, a Verdian expert, conducts the Coro y Orquesta Titulares del Teatro Real.

Last July, Fabiano added his tenth Verdi role to his repertoire, singing Carlos VII in a concert version of Giovanna d’Arco at Teatro Real. Operawire raved over Fabiano’s “impeccable” debut saying: “He has one of the most beautiful and natural sounds in the opera world nowadays, his voice is potent throughout his whole register and he displays a perfect Verdi style in his long andante and sustained arias, as well as vibrant ardency in the cabalettas.”
