A return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago in ‘La bohème’
Michael Fabiano begins the new year with his return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago to sing Rodolfo in Puccini’s La bohème. Fabiano recently made his debut at the house as Rodolfo in October 2018 opposite Maria Agresta as Mimì, who will join him onstage again for their upcoming performances.
In 2017, Fabiano starred in the same production by Richard Jones at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden which was captured for DVD released by Opus Arte this past August, available for purchase via the ROH website. Running from January 10 to 25, Fabiano reunites with Danielle de Niese as Musetta, Zachary Nelson as Marcello, Ricardo José Rivera as Schaunard, and Adrian Sâmpetrean as Colline on stage. Domingo Hindoyan conducts.
Recent acclaim as Rodolfo at the Lyric Opera:
“Michael Fabiano, making his Lyric debut in that role, immediately engaged listeners with the first aria he sang to Mimi, “Che gelida manina,” producing a sweet tone and ardent delivery.” (Chicago Tribune)
“…Fabiano’s passionate, convincing performance in his Lyric debut. The winner of both the Richard Tucker and Beverly Sills Artist awards, he possesses a pleasing tenor voice and an obvious affinity for Puccini’s brand of vocal writing.” (Chicago Sun Times)
