‘Rigoletto’ at the Royal Opera House

This winter, Michael Fabiano returns to London’s Royal Opera House in one of his signature roles, the Duca di Mantova in Verdi’s Rigoletto. Mr. Fabiano’s past portrayals of the lecherous Duke have garnered rave reviews from Europe to the US:

“… he sings phenomenally: strong, unforced, in tone, full of swagger and with an authentic Brooklyn twang that suits this stage perfectly.” (The Times)

“His musical tenor excitingly filled the Bastille … his strutting machismo was totally convincing.” (Opera News)

Performances take place December 14, 19, 21 & 23 and January 4, 6, 11, 13 & 16 with Dimitri Platanias in the title role and Lucy Crowe as Gilda. David McVicar’s production sets the scene for this unforgettable Verdian tragedy, with conductor Alexander Joel leading from the pit.
