The Newest Oldest Flying Reptile

Researchers have officially determined that a 162-million-year-old fossil found in China represents a previously unknown kind of pterosaurs (aka a flying reptile that existed during the Mesozoic Era).  They have named the beast “Kyrptodrakon progenitor” and report that it is the oldest and most primitive pterodactyloid ever found.  The name is a subtle reference to the movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” – “krypto” (hidden) “drakon” (dragon) because the fossil was discovered very near where the movie was filmed.  Speaking of dinosaurs and movies, who’s excited for Jurassic World?
