On the road again
The summer has been a wonderful time of rest and relaxation. I finally had the opportunity to take my car on a real drive across the country, a trip that I’ve craved to do all my life. Stops at Mount Rushmore, multiple places throughout Wyoming, the Rockies, and Santa Fe were the supreme highlights and I couldn’t be more grateful to have the time to take such a trip. To some, the idea of driving a car doesn’t seem relaxing at all. But for a guy that’s been addicted to cars all his life, driving my car cross country is downright cathartic. Being able to drive cross country and witness so much of God’s Glory in the landscape of my beautiful country is awe-inspiring and gives one the sense of humility for all that we’ve been given.
I’m back home now preparing for my upcoming season, all of which begins this upcoming Sunday with the Cleveland Orchestra, part of the Blossom Festival Series…I will be performing a concert with the wonderful Angela Meade of some wonderful music, including a few numbers neither of us have debuted in public yet. Following Cleveland, I’ll return to San Francisco for a concert in Stern Grove Park with the magnificent San Francisco Opera and will be sharing the afternoon with another magnificent soprano, Leah Crocetto.
All I can say is that after a lovely summer road trip, some time for relaxation and reflection, it’s time to get back right in it again and back to work. Looking forward to performing for all of you!
